About Jennifer

I am a former Youth Services Assistant who worked in two suburban Chicagoland libraries. After enjoying the interaction with young children which sparked an interest in reading and learning, I decided to go back to school for Early Childhood Education.

I received a certificate in Early Childhood Education and am a Child Development Associate (CDA). I am CPR/Pediatric First Aid certified.

I have taken numerous ECE continuing education classes including the following: Apps for Early Childhood and the Conscious Discipline.

When I worked at one of my libraries I developed, updated and wrote content for the Oak Brook Public Library Blog (which was nominated and placed sixth in Accelerated-Degrees.com Fascination Awards for Librarian Blogs. That was truly such an honor and I fell in love with using blogs as a social media medium.

I have now created Glitter and Gluesticks as an extension for my interest in Early Childhood Education and as a digital portfolio of my practices, ideas, products used and views on ECE and being a preschool teacher.

I previously worked as a three's all-day preschool teacher at a local daycare center and as a teacher assistant working with pre-kindergarten age children. I feel that glitter, glue sticks and silliness definitely lend a hand to educating and entertaining our youngest minds.I have also taught infants and toddlers.

*I am a proud member of NAEYC*
